A bespoke UPS destined for critical Maritime Safety Services

Destined for critical Maritime Safety services, including identification and radar systems, this is an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) with an unusual configuration of Dual 9kVA UPS in A + B arrangement – all within a single enclosure.

Each UPS:

– is VFI-SS-111 rated
– has a theoretical MTBF greater than 300,000 hours operational
– is fully modular on a 48VDC Bus
– can be maintained by non-specialist staff.

The system is designed for use in a remote application with a less than perfect environment, and to charge extremely large battery banks (>1000Ah per UPS).

Special care has been taken to manage the available DC Fault currents which are significant for a UPS of this size.

Each system was Independently tested in accordance with AS62040 in our Brisbane facility. The unit has full fallback / bypass facilities, achieved electrical Safety certification, and was constructed to rigid WAIO mining specifications to maximise robustness.
